Role Overview
The Post Office and Pharmacy Counter Assistant is responsible for delivering excellent customer service across both the Post Office and pharmacy counter. The role involves handling a variety of Post Office transactions, supporting pharmacy services, maintaining accurate records, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and relevant regulations. The post holder will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer care.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesPost Office Duties
- Process a wide range of Post Office transactions, including postage, parcels, special delivery, banking services, bill payments, travel money, and other financial services.
- Verify customer identity and documentation in accordance with Post Office procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Handle cash, card payments, and balance tills accurately at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Promote Post Office products and services to customers where appropriate.
- Resolve customer queries and provide accurate information regarding Post Office services.
- Maintain security of cash, stock, confidential documents, and customer information.
- Comply with all Post Office operational procedures, anti-money laundering regulations, and security policies.
Pharmacy Counter Duties
- Welcome customers and assist with enquiries relating to pharmacy products and services.
- Receive and manage prescription collections in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
- Sell over-the-counter medicines under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist, following legal and company guidelines.
- Refer customers with symptoms requiring professional advice to the pharmacist.
- Assist with stock replenishment, stock rotation, expiry date checks, and maintaining clean and organised displays.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection and pharmacy regulations.
General Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
- Operate electronic till systems and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
- Work flexibly across both the Post Office and pharmacy departments to meet business needs.
- Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Attend mandatory training and maintain knowledge of Post Office and pharmacy procedures.
- Support managers and colleagues with day-to-day operational activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
Pay: £24,420.00-£30,000.00 per year
