Wellness Centre Host & Operations Assistant – Part Time
IMMEDIATE START | BATHGATE | FLEXIBLE SHIFTS INCLUDING EVENINGS & WEEKENDS
We’re looking for one new team member to join our small team at Float.
Before you apply, please read this bit carefully…
Although we work in a beautiful wellness environment, this is not a quiet spa reception job.
It is a busy, hands-on role involving a significant amount of cleaning, resetting rooms, laundry, client hosting, sales and working to tight turnaround times.
On a busy shift you may be welcoming one client, explaining their session, resetting and thoroughly cleaning another room, managing the diary, answering the phone and preparing for the next arrival — all within a short space of time.
If you enjoy being busy, take pride in spotless surroundings and like a job where the shift flies by, you’ll probably love it here.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll be responsible for delivering the Float experience from the moment a client walks through the door until they leave.
This includes:
- Welcoming clients and checking them in
- Explaining our services and confidently guiding first-time clients through their session
- Operating and preparing our wellness equipment
- Cleaning and fully resetting treatment rooms between every single client
- Cleaning showers, floors, toilets and communal areas throughout your shift
- Laundry, towels and general housekeeping
- Preparing refreshments and looking after clients following their sessions
- Answering enquiries and managing bookings
- Talking confidently about our services, packages and memberships
- Proactively encouraging rebooking and supporting sales
- Keeping the centre running smoothly and maintaining exceptionally high standards
Cleaning is a major part of this role — not an occasional task.
Our clients expect an immaculate environment and our turnaround times can be tight, so you need to be someone who naturally notices what needs done and gets on with it.
The person we're looking for
You don't need previous float, spa or wellness experience — we'll teach you that.
We care much more about your attitude.
You'll need to be:
- Friendly, confident and comfortable talking to people
- Naturally hardworking and proactive
- Extremely particular about cleanliness
- Comfortable with sales and recommending services
- Able to multitask without becoming flustered
- Reliable and punctual
- Happy working independently without someone constantly directing you
- Physically comfortable with a hands-on role involving cleaning and being on your feet
- Available for a mixture of mornings, evenings and weekends
This is a lone-working role, so applicants must be 18 or over.
Please only apply if…
You understand that this is a hands-on hospitality and operations role within a wellness centre, rather than a traditional spa/reception position.
It can be demanding and fast-paced, but for the right person it is also a brilliant environment to work in. You'll meet lovely clients, learn about some fascinating wellness therapies and become part of a small team where everyone plays an important part.
Full training will be provided on our services, equipment, systems and sales process.
To apply
Rather than sending us a generic application, please include the following:
- Confirmation that you are 18 or over
- Your full weekly availability, including evenings and weekends
- Why this particular role appeals to you
- Whether you are comfortable with cleaning being a significant part of every shift
- An example of a previous job where you had to work quickly and manage several things at once
Please don't apply if your availability is limited to weekdays/daytime hours, as flexibility is essential for this position.
