Working in Pricing at NFU Mutual is different. With a focus on customers rather than shareholders, our work has a direct impact on protecting livelihoods, supporting local communities, and helping our Agency Network deliver exceptional service.
Our Pricing team is driving advancements in our pricing processes to deliver fair, insight-driven outcomes. We're also expanding into new digital distribution channels, creating exciting opportunities to rethink and enhance our pricing approaches. We are looking for an experienced pricing professional to join our Home Technical Pricing team and play a key role in that journey.
In this role, you will lead the development, enhancement and maintenance of General Insurance pricing models, ensuring they remain accurate, predictive and aligned with business strategy. A key focus will be identifying opportunities to improve existing methodologies, challenge established approaches and introduce new techniques, tools and data sources that improve both the speed and accuracy of the pricing process.
Working closely with Underwriting and the wider Pricing community, you will refine rating structures, strengthen control frameworks and help shape pricing strategies for an evolving market. You will use analytical expertise, market insight and professional judgement to test innovative solutions, improve model performance and support the transition to new pricing capabilities and online channels.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys driving continuous improvement, embracing new ways of working and influencing how technical pricing is delivered in the future. You will also lead and develop team members, helping them achieve their potential and contribute to the success of the business.
You're an experienced pricing professional who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for improving how pricing is delivered. You enjoy challenging established approaches, testing new techniques and using data, insight and judgement to enhance pricing performance, efficiency and accuracy.
You can translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations and build effective relationships across Pricing, Underwriting and wider business teams. Whether working independently or collaboratively, you bring a proactive, customer-focused mindset and a drive to deliver better outcomes. Experience in personal or commercial property lines and/or direct online channels would also be advantageous.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
-
Significant experience within a general insurance pricing function, with responsibility for pricing outputs
-
Strong experience building, maintaining and enhancing risk pricing models and technical rates
-
Experience using tools such as Emblem, Radar (desirable)
-
Proficiency in analytical tools or programming language e.g. SQL, R, Python
-
Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
-
The confidence to challenge, innovate and drive continuous improvement
-
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
-
A resilient, customer-focused and results-driven approach
-
Previous experience managing, mentoring or coaching others would be beneficial but is not essential.
