Millfield School is seeking a highly professional and proactive Senior Office Assistant to provide exceptional administrative support to the Head’s Office. This is a pivotal role requiring outstanding organisation, discretion and communication skills, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Head’s daily business.
About the Role
You will:
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant to provide professional and confidential administrative support to the Head’s Office.
- Support the coordination of the Head’s diary, meetings and appointments, ensuring the smooth running of daily activities.
- Draft correspondence and manage communications on behalf of the Head’s Office.
- Proactively manage inboxes and workflows in liaison with the Executive Assistant, ensuring actions are progressed efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Prepare agendas, coordinate meetings and take minutes as required.
- Maintain accurate filing systems and records to support the effective operation of the office.
- Assist with hospitality and event arrangements, including coordinating invitations and catering.
About You
You will bring:
- At least 2 years successful experience in a comparable role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information professionally and liaise confidently with a wide range of people.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- A calm, proactive and solution‑focused approach, especially when working under pressure.
- A high level of professionalism, discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Experience within an educational environment and knowledge of school systems would be advantageous.
Working Hours & Salary:
This is a term-time plus 7 weeks position working Monday to Friday, 8.30am–5.00pm, offering an actual salary of £26,210–£29,704.67 (£30,000–£34,000 FTE), dependent on skills and experience, together with a wide range of staff benefits.
