Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Evening or Early Morning Nursery Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and visitors. This role is vital in ensuring the nursery space is hygienic, well-organized, and ready for daily activities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness during designated hours that support the nursery’s operational needs.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of nursery rooms, including floors, furniture, toys, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces regularly to prevent the spread of germs and maintain health standards.
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste responsibly in accordance with safety protocols.
- Restock cleaning supplies and ensure all cleaning tools are maintained in good condition.
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently during cleaning procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Work efficiently within scheduled hours to prepare the nursery for the upcoming day or close after activities conclude.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably within childcare or educational settings.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and sanitation standards.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and disinfectant sprayers safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on hygiene and safety protocols.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with nursery staff and report issues clearly.
- Reliable and punctual with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
