Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver/Stores Operative to join our team. This role involves delivering goods to various locations, managing stock. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, experience in warehouse procedures, and strong communication abilities.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including vans, to deliver goods to clients locally.
- Load and unload stock using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling and organisation of items
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with company standards
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon receipt of goods
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times during driving and warehouse activities
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar logistics role, with a valid driver’s licence.
- Warehouse experience, including knowledge of stock handling and organisation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling goods or stock items
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients
- Strong organisational skills to manage schedules efficiently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Good physical fitness to handle long periods of driving and manual handling tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £13.50 per hour
