We're looking for a Transport Operations Lead to help keep our Larkhall operation moving. You'll be a key point of contact for our self-employed delivery crews, supporting them throughout the day while making sure our vehicles stay safe, compliant and ready to deliver the brilliant service AO is known for.
This is a great opportunity for someone working in Transport Admin, Transport Coordination or Logistics who wants to take that next step and get more involved in the day-to-day operation.
At AO, no two days are ever the same. One minute you'll be helping a crew get back on track, the next you'll be arranging vehicle maintenance, checking compliance, or welcoming a new starter into the team.
You'll be right at the heart of the operation, making a real difference every day.
- Salary: £28,311.90
- Shift pattern: 5 on 3 off 5 on 2 off rotating shifts
- Hours: 4am-1pm and 12pm-9pm (40 hours per week)

- Supporting our network of self-employed delivery crews and helping them deliver brilliant service.
- Keeping an eye on the day-to-day operation and jumping in to solve problems when they arise.
- Carrying out vehicle and compliance checks to keep our fleet safe and road-ready.
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Supporting new starters and helping them settle into life at AO.
- Building great working relationships with drivers, contractors and colleagues.
- Helping create a safe, positive and successful depot environment.
- Working closely with the management team to keep everything running smoothly.
- Experience in Transport Administration, Logistics, Distribution or a similar operational role.
- Enjoy being organised and keeping lots of moving parts under control.
- A natural problem solver who stays calm when things get busy.
- Comfortable building relationships with drivers, contractors and colleagues.
- Knowledge of transport compliance and safe loading practices.
- Happy taking ownership and getting stuck in when needed
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
Nice to have, but not essential:
- Experience supporting drivers or contractor networks.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- Previous experience in a lead, coordinator or team support role
