An Opportunity to Build Something Exceptional.
Prospera Group is expanding into Scotland, and we're looking for an experienced and ambitious House Manager to lead the development of our first Care Inspectorate-registered children's home.
This is a unique opportunity to establish a brand-new service from the ground up, creating a home where one young person can experience stability, safety and genuine belonging.
Our vision is simple:
Creating a home where everyone finds their place of belonging.
If you're someone who is passionate about therapeutic, relationship-based care and wants the opportunity to shape a service from day one, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
This isn't simply a management position—it's an opportunity to create a home and culture that delivers exceptional outcomes for children and young people.
As House Manager, you will take responsibility for establishing, registering and leading a new children's home regulated by the Care Inspectorate.
The home will support one young person, allowing your focus to remain firmly on delivering outstanding care, developing your team and creating a therapeutic environment where children can thrive.
Working closely alongside the Responsible Individual and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping every aspect of the service, from recruitment and staff development to regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead the successful registration and opening of a new children's home.
- Develop a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment from the outset.
- Recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing staff team.
- Ensure full compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and relevant Scottish legislation.
- Build strong relationships with placing authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
- Promote outstanding safeguarding and positive risk management.
- Lead regular supervisions, reflective practice and professional development.
- Maintain excellent quality assurance systems.
- Manage staffing, budgets, resources and occupancy effectively.
- Drive continuous improvement with the ambition of achieving excellent inspection outcomes.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced residential childcare leader who wants the opportunity to build a service they can genuinely be proud of.
Essential
- Extensive management experience within residential children's care.
- Strong knowledge of Scottish residential childcare legislation and Care Inspectorate standards.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
- Experience working with children with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
- Appropriate leadership qualification for residential childcare (or willingness to achieve where applicable).
- Relevant residential childcare qualification.
- Eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), where required.
