Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join our practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting oral health education, and assisting with clinical procedures. Responsibilities
- Perform professional dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup and additional clinical responsibilities as required of dental therapist if qualified as therapist .
- Conduct oral health assessments and record findings accurately in patient records.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain sterilisation of dental instruments and ensure the cleanliness of treatment areas.
- Keep detailed documentation of treatments provided and patient progress.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records as needed.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Dental Hygienist / Therapist with the relevant regulatory body.
- Knowledge of Exact software is advantageous for digital imaging tasks.
- Experience with medical imaging techniques, including radiography, is essential.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, particularly oral and maxillofacial structures.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and clinical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while maintaining professionalism.
