Trainee Site Manager (1-Year Fixed Term Contract)

As part of our continued development and commitment to investing in future talent, we are seeking a motivated and ambitious Trainee Site Manager to join our team in the Southport, Lancashire area. This role is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate. Candidates will need to have or be currently working towards a degree or HNC in a construction-related subject.

This placement offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting our experienced Project team on live construction projects. You will develop practical skills and a strong understanding of site operations in a professional and supportive environment.
The Role
As a Trainee Site Manager, you will support the site management team with:
- Support the day‑to‑day management of construction activities on site
- Assist with planning, sequencing and coordinating works to meet programme targets
- Help ensure works are delivered safely, in line with health, safety and environmental requirements
- Support quality control processes and inspections to ensure works meet specifications
- Assist with managing subcontractors, site inductions and supervision of works
- Learn how drawings, schedules and programmes are used to manage site operations
- Support site reporting, record keeping and progress tracking
- Work closely with commercial, design and engineering teams to help resolve site issues
- Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, clients and the wider project team
