Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within a nurturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while working closely with children, parents, and colleagues. The Care Practitioner will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, fostering a safe and stimulating environment, and promoting early childhood education principles. A valid driving licence is advantageous for this role, which involves engaging with families and supporting community activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and support to children, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, development, and social skills
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Manage daily routines including feeding, nappy changes, playtime, and rest periods
- Lead by example in fostering positive behaviour and encouraging independence among children
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive team environment focused on continuous improvement
- Uphold health and safety regulations, including maintaining cleanliness of the nursery environment
- Assist in organising outings or community events that support children's development
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment of children’s needs and progress, supporting personalised care plans
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in childcare settings or nurseries is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage confidently with children, parents, and team members
- Proven ability to work well within a team environment while demonstrating initiative
- Valid driving licence is preferred for facilitating family visits or community outings
- Previous nursery experience or relevant qualifications in early childhood education are advantageous
