Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Junior to join our small kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and hospitality, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support kitchen operations by organising ingredients and ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained
- Contribute to food presentation and plating, ensuring dishes meet quality standards
- Help manage stock levels, monitor expiry dates, and assist with inventory control
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen workflow during busy service periods
- Follow all food safety regulations and health & safety procedures diligently
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety protocols
Skills
- Previous experience in food production or kitchen environments is desirable
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when required
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a high-pressure setting
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards learning and development
- Hospitality or restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for culinary arts is key
