Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients following established protocols and safety standards
- Verify prescriptions for correctness, dosage, and appropriateness before dispensing
- Assist in medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring proper handling and storage
- Provide clear instructions and counseling to patients regarding their medications, including usage, potential side effects, and storage requirements
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications, patient interactions, and inventory levels
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies, checking expiry dates, and reporting shortages or discrepancies
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and medication safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar medication dispensing role is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations
- Strong commitment to patient care with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills to effectively educate and support patients
- Ability to follow strict safety protocols and maintain confidentiality of patient information
- Certification or licensing as required by local regulations (if applicable)
