Job Overview
As we head further into a busy summer season, we are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and hands-on hospitality professional to join our team at The Watership Down Inn. We have 7 bedrooms, a 50-cover restaurant, 30 additional outdoor dining covers and a large garden, we are seeking someone who can take ownership of our bar and cellar operations while supporting the wider guest experience across the business.
The Role
Your primary focus will be the smooth running of the bar and cellar, ensuring excellent service standards, stock control and product quality. You will work closely with the management team and play a key role in supporting our front-of-house operation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience in a well known food led restaurant with rooms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising the day-to-day operation of the bar
- Maintaining cellar standards, stock rotation and line quality
- Ordering, receiving and controlling beverage stock
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Supporting restaurant and outdoor dining service when required
- Training and assisting team members
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and compliance
- Working with management to enhance the overall guest experience
About You:
- Previous experience in a bar, pub or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of cellar management and draught systems preferred
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A positive, proactive and hands-on approach
- Ability to lead by example and support a team
- Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences
- Ambition to progress into a management role

You will need the ability to reliably commute to the site which is in a semi-rural location, but with good public transport links to Basingstoke, Andover and Whitchurch
Suggested work pattern:
- Up to 30-40 hours per week on a rota based schedule, determined by season and 5 days a week. We are not a late night venue, but we do stay open till 23:00 4 nights a week - Wednesday to Saturday
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.80-£14.00 per hour
