Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Asst. Chef / Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team for JRC GLOBAL BUFFET Grant re-opening by new management team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a busy hospitality environment, supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen staff in delivering high standards of service. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to develop their culinary skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and basic cooking under supervision
- Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently and hygienically
- Help with restocking supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Support serving staff during busy periods by providing basic assistance where required
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment within the kitchen and dining areas
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and health & safety procedures
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Enthusiastic attitude towards learning new skills within the culinary industry
- Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is a plus but not mandatory
