Are you good with numbers and quick to learn new apps and systems? Do you enjoy keeping things organised and noticing when something doesn’t look quite right?
We are looking for someone who would like to take their first steps into administration, finance and accounting while gaining practical experience in a growing business.
This position could be ideal for a college leaver or anyone at the beginning of their career. You do not need previous office or accounting experience—we will provide training and support as you learn.
About us
We are a young, vibrant and growing independent food business with several locations across London.
Behind our shops is a small and friendly support team looking after the administration, finance and everyday tasks that keep the business running smoothly. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone organised and dependable to join us and provide additional support.
What will you be doing?
You will begin with straightforward admin and finance-related tasks, such as:
- Entering and checking sales figures
- Checking supplier invoices and statements
- Updating spreadsheets and online systems
- Organising documents and keeping records up to date
- Helping to manage emails and respond to simple enquiries
- Looking for missing information or figures that do not match
- Supporting the team with other everyday administrative tasks
You will not be expected to know how to do everything from the beginning. We will introduce the tasks gradually, explain our processes and help you become confident using our systems.
As you learn and develop, you may also be introduced to other areas such as bookkeeping, reporting and payroll administration.
Who are we looking for?
We are not looking for someone with lots of experience. We are looking for someone with the right attitude who is genuinely interested in learning and developing.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Enjoy working with numbers and information
- Have good attention to detail
- Are comfortable using technology and learning new systems
- Are organised, reliable and responsible
- Pick up new tasks quickly
- Are happy to ask questions when you are unsure
- Communicate in a friendly and professional way
- Can handle private and confidential information carefully
- Are interested in finance, accounting, administration or how a business works behind the scenes
Previous experience and formal accounting qualifications are not required. Confidence using a computer and a willingness to learn are much more important to us.
An opportunity to grow
The role will begin with 8–10 hours per week, helping with basic finance and administrative tasks. However, we hope to find someone who would like to stay and grow with the business.
As you become more confident and demonstrate that you are dependable, accurate and ready for more responsibility, the role and working hours could gradually increase.
For the right person, there is genuine potential for this to develop into a full-time position in the future, depending on your progress and the needs of the business.
If you are leaving college or do not have much work experience yet, that is completely fine. We are more interested in your attitude, attention to detail, confidence with technology and willingness to learn.
If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we would love to hear from you.
