West Ham United Women’s Academy is looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our safeguarding and wellbeing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the development, wellbeing and safeguarding of young female players within an elite football environment.
THE ROLE
Working closely with the Women’s Head of Safeguarding and Wellbeing, you will help deliver a player-centered environment that supports both performance and personal development.
You will:
Support Academy players, staff and families
️ Manage safeguarding processes and wellbeing support
Deliver wellbeing, education and life-skills programmes
Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Support player development on and off the pitch
️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead safeguarding administration, reporting and compliance activity
Act as a point of contact for safeguarding and wellbeing concerns
Deliver safeguarding education sessions for players, staff and parents/carers
Support player wellbeing, mentoring and personal development
Coordinate onboarding and player transitions throughout the Academy pathway
Maintain safeguarding records and risk assessments
Work closely with coaches and performance staff to support holistic player
development
Support players progressing into the Women’s First Team

Successful candidates must undergo essential background checks before starting their employment, which may include screening of social media. The type of DBS check required will depend on the responsibilities of the position and may be basic, standard, or enhanced.

The successful candidate agrees to proactively identify and respond appropriately to any concerns, and follow the Club's Safeguarding reporting procedures to report allegations of abuse, poor practice, or anything that may impact the welfare of a child, young person, or adult at risk without delay, within 24 hours, or as otherwise directed by the Club’s or the West Ham Foundation Safeguarding Team.
