Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled High Level Order Picker to join our warehouse team. This role involves efficiently selecting and preparing goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and safety at all times. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, possess mechanical knowledge, and be comfortable working with various handling equipment. Duties
- Operate high-level order picking equipment, including forklifts, to retrieve items from elevated storage locations
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety standards
- Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) software to process orders accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading lorries
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure items meet company standards before dispatch
- Pick and pack orders with precision, ensuring correct quantities and item integrity
- Stock shelves and organise inventory in designated areas for optimal accessibility
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Perform mechanical checks on equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management systems, materials handling, picking & packing, and stock organisation
- Proficiency in operating forklift trucks and other handling machinery safely
- Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures within a warehouse setting
- Mechanical knowledge is desirable for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stock movement or order fulfilment
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment requiring prolonged standing and lifting tasks
- Good communication skills for teamwork and safety compliance
