JOB TITLE: Porter / Driver
LOCATION: Bradford
HOURS: 39 weekly core hours, Monday to Thursday 6am – 2.45pm, Friday 6am – 12pm

We are looking for a Porter / Driver to join our team in Bradford.
You will spend time working in our loading bay, loading and preparing furniture for delivery, as well as travelling out on deliveries as a second person to assist the driver. You will also occasionally drive company vans on local and regional day runs, returning to site each day.
You'll play an important role in ensuring our furniture is loaded, transported, delivered and positioned safely and professionally, while providing excellent service to our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Load, unload and move furniture safely within the factory and loading bay, using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment such as tail lifts.
- Prepare furniture for delivery, ensuring it is correctly loaded, secured and protected for transportation.
- Work as a second person on deliveries, assisting the driver with loading, unloading and moving furniture at customer sites.
- Deliver, carry and position furniture within customers' homes, healthcare facilities, care homes and other client sites, taking care to protect the furniture and surrounding areas.
- Assist with the positioning and installation of furniture where required.
- Drive company vans and light vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes on local and regional day runs, ensuring you return to site each day.
- Complete daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
- Complete delivery records, customer sign-offs, vehicle checks and other required paperwork.
- Represent Knightsbridge Furniture professionally, communicating courteously with customers, site teams and colleagues.
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and safe manual handling practices.
What we're looking for
- A full and valid UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in a porter, warehouse, delivery, removals, furniture or similar hands-on role would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
- Willing to work overtime as required which will be paid as time and a half.
- Physically fit, able to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely; training will be provided.
- Superb customer service skills with a polite, professional and helpful manner.
- Commitment to Health & Safety, adhering to company policies and promoting safe working practices
- Reliable and punctual – a real team-player.
