Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to interior and exterior surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets safety and aesthetic standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers before plastering
- Mix and apply plaster using hand tools, trowels, and power tools to achieve a smooth finish
- Repair cracks or damaged surfaces with appropriate materials
- Work with bricklayers, masons, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless integration of plastering with other construction elements
- Install laths or mesh as required for exterior or specialised interior finishes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist in the setup of scaffolding or ladders for elevated work areas
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and project specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in plastering, masonry, or related trades
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in plastering tasks
- Knowledge of bricklaying, carpentry, roofing, welding, and general masonry is advantageous
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are preferred but not essential
