OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Locations: 9-10b, Building 4 Central Park, Mallusk
Hours of Work: 40 hours Monday to Friday (Overtime when required, to ensure the smooth running of site)
Due to our continual growth, we are currently looking to appoint an Operations Supervisor to support the Operations team. This opportunity would be ideal for someone who is ready for a challenge and believes they have the skills and attributes to supervise operations within our Materials Recovery Facility at our Mallusk depot.
Purpose of the Job
As Operations Supervisor, you will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for designated teams to ensure the timely treatment and production of desired outputs within budgeted and planned cost, quality, and time parameters.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and co-ordinate, the timely treatment and production of desired outputs to achieve your team objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as determined by management.
- Ensure weekly departmental/team quality and cost targets are achieved.
- Responsibility for working within the weekly and monthly cost budgets set by management.
- To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management for assets and PPE.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the fuel required is achieved by the team within your area and is maintained at the highest possible standard for the customer.
- Ensure ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 controls and procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Implement the Company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within your area of responsibility are adhered to (e.g. manual handling, use of PPE, safe use of machinery and equipment, stacking & storage, etc.).
- Carry out health & safety audits and inspections as required. Record & report findings to all relevant personnel and take, or follow-up on, relevant corrective action.
- Ensure that a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained at all times.
- Responsibility for ensuring operations within your area is compliant with the Company’s environmental standards and in particular, the working plan defined in the PPC permit.
- Carry out random quality inspections and ensure full checks are made on quality of fuel and maintenance procedures.
- Support management in the control of maintenance to ensure preventive, breakdown and specialist maintenance of all machinery and equipment is carried out, ensuring that all maintenance schedules and records are updated accordingly.
- Overall responsibility for the effective supervision, training & development and health, safety & welfare of your team.
- Provide strong leadership, direction and mentoring, thereby fostering and sustaining cooperation and team spirit.
- Work closely with the Project Engineer to review and make practicable improvements to workflow, work processes and efficiencies within own area in line with Company and departmental objectives. Use recognised business improvement techniques where practicable.
- Participate in training and personal development activities, as required.
- Be flexible in undertaking the duties and responsibilities attached to your role;
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the Company
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, you should display the following:
- Good communication skills
- Be IT literate and be proficient in the use of Microsoft office
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Able to prioritise effectively and is results driven
- Should be familiar with Company Management Systems such as Time and Attendance and ISO and Health and Safety Procedures.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working to ISO standards
- Ideally you will have attained IOSH in Managing Safely or must be willing to complete this qualification
- Ideally you have attained OCC level 4 in Waste Management or must be willing to complete this qualification
