Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to oversee and nurture infants within our childcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with young children. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in providing a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for babies, ensuring their developmental needs are met in accordance with early childhood education standards. The Baby Room Leader will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with both children and their families, contributing to the overall quality of our childcare service.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained at all times
- Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress, routines, and any concerns
- Organise daily routines including feeding, nappy changing, playtime, and sleep schedules
- Maintain accurate records of children's development and attendance
- Support team members through coaching, mentoring, and providing professional development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with nursery policies and early childhood education frameworks
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the baby room operations
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Extensive experience working directly with children, particularly infants or babies
- Strong background in childcare or early childhood education (nursery experience preferred)
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to childcare environments
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting supplies or attending external meetings as required
