We're looking for an Electrical / ICA Engineer to join our Thames Water Major Projects team based in East Hyde, Luton.

We're seeking an Electrical/ICA Engineer to work within our Thames Water Major Projects team. You'll provide LV Electrical, Control & Automation, and PLC & SCADA commissioning expertise for industrial projects, with a particular emphasis on the water industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is quality-focused and has a demonstrable history of commissioning Electrical ICA works in major projects. Kier is a strategic partner to Thames Water, providing design and build services for new and existing infrastructure assets.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Electrical / ICA Engineer, you'll be working within the Thames Water Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering commissioning expertise for industrial projects. Your day to day will include:
- Reviewing LV Electrical and ICA documentation, including MCC/RTU electrical schematics, control philosophies, and functional design specifications, ensuring compliance with water industry asset standards
- Representing Kier at client meetings and coordination sessions, providing liaison and technical support
- Conducting fault finding and system configuration for MCC and ICA equipment including PLCs and control panels
- Overseeing installation and commissioning of Profibus DP/PA communication networks and supporting System Integrators with PLC software development
- Reviewing Electrical Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and authorising Inspection and Test Plans to ensure compliance with project and legislative requirements
What are we looking for?
This role of Electrical / ICA Engineer is great for you if:
- You're HNC qualified in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering, or a similar discipline
- You have experience in ICA engineering, PLCs, HMIs, Profibus networks and SCADA installations on large-scale water treatment works
- You have a good knowledge of Low Voltage large motor control centres and communications protocols including Profibus, Modbus, and Ethernet IP
- You possess strong interpersonal skills and can work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team, demonstrating versatility and resourcefulness
- You hold a Full driving licence
