About the Role:
As Area Manager, you will directly manage a growing portfolio of contracts, working closely with the Regional Operations Manager and a wider team of Area Managers. This role is based in Edinburgh with travelling to surrounding areas.
You’ll lead your teams to deliver a consistently high standard of cleaning services, caring about the detail, building strong client relationships, and driving performance across all sites.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Complete regular audits to ensure quality and service levels are consistently met or exceeded
- Carry out site visits, inspections and report outcomes to your Regional Manager
- Lead onboarding and training of new team members in cleaning standards and health & safety
- Partner with our HR team to support recruitment, team development, and employee relations
- Be a problem solver for operational challenges across your contracts
- Maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, be proud of the service we provide
- Drive performance to meet and exceed KPI and SLA targets
- Motivate and support teams to thrive, aligning with our value to grow together
- Communicate pay and staffing changes effectively to our Payroll Team
- Be a champion of Spectrum’s values in every interaction
Position Details:
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Pay: £30,000
- Location: Edinburgh, with occasional travel to our Head Office based in Paisley
- Flexibility: Hybrid working – between home and sites
- Holidays: 28 days + potential to earn 2 bonus days

Who We’re Looking For:
You’re an experienced cleaning professional, ideally with multi-site or large contract management experience. You might be running a large site now or stepping up from a similar area role. Either way, you’re ready for your next challenge.
You’ll bring:
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to get the best of your teams
- Strong customer facing experience with a commercial mindset
- Great organisational skills – you’ll need to manage your time and workload across sites
- Holder of a full UK driver’s license – essential
- A confident communicator who can engage with people at all levels both verbally and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
