The Role
This is a highly telephone-based role that would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing outcomes, and taking ownership of results.
We're not looking for someone who simply sends emails and statements. We're looking for someone who is confident picking up the phone, building rapport, having professional conversations around payments, and helping clients find solutions while ensuring outstanding balances are collected.
You will play a key role in protecting the company's cash flow while maintaining positive, long-term customer relationships.
Whether your background is in collections, credit control, recruitment, sales, customer service, account management, or another customer-facing role, we'd love to hear from you if you're confident communicating with people and achieving positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively contact customers by phone and email regarding outstanding invoices.
- Build strong professional relationships and secure payment commitments.
- Take ownership of outstanding debt and drive timely payment collection.
- Negotiate payment arrangements where appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries and disputes efficiently.
- Monitor customer accounts and identify potential payment risks.
- Maintain accurate records of customer communication and payment activity.
- Produce debtor reports and collection updates when required.
- Work closely with internal teams to resolve issues affecting customer payments.
- Reduce aged debt while maintaining excellent customer relationships.
- Ensure all collection activities are carried out professionally and in line with company processes.

- Previous experience in collections, credit control, accounts receivable, customer service, account management, sales, or a similar role.
- Excellent telephone communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
