Canford Law is seeking an experienced Property Litigation Solicitor to join our growing legal team as part of an exciting new initiative within the Canford Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and commercially minded Solicitor to play a key role within a developing area of the business, managing a complex and varied caseload of contentious property matters across the County Court and First-tier Tribunal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for independently managing their own caseload, providing expert legal advice to clients, and supporting colleagues through guidance and supervision. You will have conduct of a broad range of property litigation matters, including service charge and ground rent recovery, breaches of covenant, and general Landlord & Tenant matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently managing a varied caseload of contentious property litigation matters.
- Handling defended service charge, ground rent, and possession matters relating to residential property.
- Reviewing claims, assessing the merits of defences and/or counterclaims, and providing clear advice to clients and agents.
- Advising on breach of covenant matters and progressing cases in line with client instructions.
- Ensuring compliance with Court and Tribunal deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Providing timely and commercially focused Landlord & Tenant advice.
- Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication, updates, and reporting.
- Providing legal guidance and support internally and to clients as required.
- Maintaining effective case management, including diarising key dates and ensuring accurate system updates.
- Producing clear and concise reporting where required.
- Supporting and supervising other team members where appropriate.

Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in property litigation.
- Ability to manage a varied and high-volume caseload independently.
- Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience handling dispute resolution matters involving money claims across all County Court case management tracks.
- Experience in service charge and ground rent debt recovery is desirable.
- Experience in property litigation, breaches of covenant, and long residential lease matters is desirable.
