Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our team at NGS. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. The ideal applicant will possess experience with hand tools, power tools, and a range of building techniques, ensuring high-quality results in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare window openings to ensure accurate fitting and sealing.
- Install new windows in accordance with schematics, technical drawings, and safety standards.
- Remove old or damaged windows carefully, minimising damage to surrounding structures.
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and secure window frames and glass panes.
- Conduct repairs or replacements of existing windows as required.
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plastering, masonry, carpentry, and electrical teams to coordinate work effectively.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly dispose of waste materials.
- Read technical schematics and construction drawings to ensure precise installation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in window fitting or related construction trades such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or masonry.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of schematics and technical drawings relevant to window installation projects.
- Familiarity with construction painting and plastering techniques is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred but not essential. Pay: £24,420.00-£58,389.10 per year
