Oaklands Children's Residential Home is a dedicated service providing high-quality short breaks for children and young people with disabilities. Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where every child can thrive while offering valuable support to their families.
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Residential Child Care Workers to join our friendly and committed team.
About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will:
Provide high-quality care and support tailored to each child's individual needs.- Promote independence, choice, and inclusion.
- Support children with personal care where required.
- Plan and participate in fun, engaging, and meaningful activities.
- Work closely with families and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and homely environment.
Shift Pattern
This role operates on a rota basis and includes weekday and weekend working, with contracts of 29 hours per week.
Typical shifts include:
Weekdays:- 7:00am – 10:30am
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Weekends:
- 7:00am – 10:00pm
Flexibility is essential as shifts are allocated on a rotating rota.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has a genuine passion for working with children and young people with disabilities.- Is caring, patient, and compassionate.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Can remain calm and adaptable in a busy environment.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Previous experience in residential care, health and social care, education, or supporting children with additional needs is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
