Commercial Property Solicitor
Derby
About the company
An established Legal 500 multi-service law firm with offices in the East Midlands is seeking to strengthen its commercial property offering at its Derby office. The firm has a busy property practice and the capacity to make an additional appointment as part of its forward planning and continued development.
Team Structure
The successful candidate will join a very busy commercial property department. This is an additional hire rather than a replacement, reflecting the volume of work available and the team’s ability to grow. The firm has recruited into the team within the past 12 months and is seeking to continue to invest in its growth, so the appointment will also provide additional strength and continuity within the department.
About the role
This is an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor to join the firm’s Derby office at Associate or Senior Associate level. The role will involve handling a broad, generalist commercial property workload within a busy department. It is a permanent additional appointment designed to support current demand and strengthen the team over the longer term.
Responsibilities
Manage a varied commercial property caseload of:
- transactional work
- L&T matters
- development projects
- portfolio management
Support the department in meeting its existing high volume of work.
Provide additional capacity and continuity as the team grows
Work collaboratively with the commercial property partners and wider department.
Salary and benefits
My client is aware that it is seeking to recruit in a candidate short market and accordingly is prepared to offer an attractive salary to incentivise potential candidates, as well as a comprehensive suite of benefits, but it also feels that the firm and the culture is a major attraction and encourage candidates to speak with the firm to find out more – it’s an ‘open door’ culture and there are excellent prospects for the right person.
Ideal candidate
Ideally, you will have the level of experienced in commercial property work to operate relatively independently, therefore someone coming in as Associate or Senior Associate would be a good fit from a day to day perspective, however in tune with the wider firm culture, there is plenty of support and other resources available
Able to manage a broad variety of good quality commercial property work.
Capable of contributing effectively within a busy and growing department.
A collaborative professional who can work closely with the team’s partners and other colleagues.
