Accounts Assistant – Bramleys Chartered Accountants
Location: Iver High Street, Buckinghamshire
Hours: 3 days per week initially, with the potential to increase to 4 days per week in the near future.
Our office is conveniently located near Iver Elizabeth Line station and is served by three bus routes providing links to Slough and Uxbridge.
About Us
Bramleys is a family-run firm of Chartered Accountants based in Iver High Street. We provide accounting, tax and business advisory services to a broad range of businesses and individual clients.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team.
The Role
This is a varied role with the opportunity to develop across bookkeeping, accounts preparation, payroll and taxation.
Initially, the role will focus on:
- Bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Processing payroll and pension submissions
- General office administration and support
- Liaising with clients to obtain accounting records and information
- Maintaining accurate working papers and client records
As you develop, your responsibilities will grow to include:
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
- Preparing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns
- Dealing with day-to-day client queries
- Taking greater responsibility for your own workload and client relationships
Our aim is for the successful candidate to develop into a well-rounded accountant who can prepare accounts and tax returns with increasing independence, manage their own portfolio of clients and build trusted relationships with business owners.
About You
Essential
- Currently studying, or intending to begin studying towards, AAT or ACCA. We also welcome applications from AAT-qualified or ACCA part-qualified candidates
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience using QuickBooks Online, Xero or a similar accounting software package
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable
- Previous accountancy practice experience
- Experience with payroll, VAT returns or year-end accounts
- Familiarity with Dext or similar software
