About Us
Stepping Stones Nurseries Limited is a family-run business with over 25 years of experience in the childcare sector. Since opening our first nursery in 1996, we have grown to operate nurseries across the North of England.
At Stepping Stones Nurseries, we pride ourselves on creating a warm, supportive environment where both children and our teams can thrive.
The Role
We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and proactive HR & Operations Administrator to join our friendly Central Support team in Warrington.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in HR and administration within a supportive and growing organisation. Previous HR experience isn't essential, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, strong organisational skills and a genuine willingness to learn.
You may already have administrative experience, or you may currently work within Early Years or childcare and be looking for an opportunity to use your knowledge and transferable skills in a different way.
Working closely with our Head of Childcare & People, you will play an important role in supporting our nursery teams and employees across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment administration, from advertising vacancies and communicating with candidates through to onboarding new employees.
- Build positive relationships with recruitment agencies and help us identify new recruitment opportunities.
- Complete and monitor pre-employment checks and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and process routine employment changes.
- Monitor HR deadlines and documentation, proactively following up outstanding actions with Nursery Managers.
- Support attendance and wellbeing processes, including monitoring absence records and return-to-work documentation.
- Provide administrative support across probation, performance and other HR processes.
- Respond to routine HR queries and support managers to follow established company policies and procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities.
- Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following things through.
- A confident and professional communicator who enjoys building positive working relationships.
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information.
- Comfortable using IT and learning new systems.
- Keen to learn and develop their knowledge of HR, recruitment and employment processes.
- Confident asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.
Experience in administration, recruitment or HR would be useful but is not essential. Experience of working within Early Years or childcare would also be an advantage, as an understanding of the demands of the sector can be particularly valuable in this role.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone enthusiastic, dependable and keen to develop.
