As an HGV Driver, you will play a key role in delivering Oleon products and collecting empty IBCs from customer sites across mainland UK.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Driver to join our team at Oleon Ltd on on a 3–6-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting our high-quality oils to various destinations while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety regulations. Your contribution will be vital in maintaining our reputation for reliability and excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Load vehicle in a secure manner to ensure safe transit & delivery of goods, including inspection of loaded trailers prior to departure.
- Execute planned routes in the most efficient & cost-effective manner utilizing in cab technology & provide feedback on any deviations to Planning Team.
- Carry out routine checks on vehicle in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations ensuring that the vehicle is legally compliant and road worthy in all aspects.
- Check delivery paperwork daily & ensure all required documentation is correctly completed at each delivery ensuring any damage or returned product is duly noted.
- Always maintain self & vehicle in clean & well-presented condition to represent Oleon Ltd in an appropriate manner, aligned with Avril values.
- Ensure full legal compliance with UK/EU Drivers Hour rules & Working Time Directive and all relevant UK Road legislation.
- Participate in Driver Debriefs following each completed route covering execution of planned route, infringements & legal compliance.
- Carry out all duties & responsibilities in the manner described in the HGV driver handbook.
- Maintain communication with Planning team promptly informing them of any potential delays or issues with deliveries.
- Be vigilant whilst at customer premises & report useful information such as site access & general Health & Safety concerns etc.
- Return IBCs and note any deviations to expected volume or quality.
- Attend & participate in monthly Driver Team meetings.
- Deliver against functional KPIs such as fuel consumption & Optifleet performance.
The role will include nights out (usually 2, maximum 3 per week) and shifts will be Monday – Friday.
Hours of work will vary weekly depending on order volumes but will average no more than 48 hours over a 17-week reference period.
The successful candidate will have their own dedicated tractor unit, equipped with fridge, microwave and additional storage units for belongings.
