There i s an excellent opportunity available at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. We are looking for a Clinical Research Fellow to join our dedicated team within the Clinical Research Facility.
The successful applicant would be expected to fulfill the obligations of the Clinical Research facility rota, which includes care of patients in the CRF. When not allocated to the CRF rota the successful candidate would be conducting research led by supervisor Professor Julie Cornish.
This clinical research fellow job is 50/50 split between a clinical role (cover for the CRF) and research time (working on the Pelvic Power Partnership- described below).
The successful applicant would be expected to fulfil the obligations of the Clinical Research facility rota, which includes: responsibility for the care of patients attending the facility and for the identification, screening, consent and recruitment of patients to studies; pre-treatment assessment and eligibility confirmation; supervision of first-dose and early-phase treatment visits; protocol-mandated sampling; adverse event assessment and reporting, and ongoing safety follow-up. You will also undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of these patients. There will be a commitment to occasional out of hours working in the CRF if patients require overnight or long outpatient stays as part of the research study.
When not allocated to the CRF rota the successful candidate will be working on the HCRW (Health Care Research Wales) funded Pelvic Power Partnership, led by supervisor Professor Julie Cornish. This is an extensive and innovative programme of work that focuses on engagement with underrepresented communities regarding pelvic health care. The successful candidate will be working with an extensive MDT team, including community groups, to deliver and evaluate high quality education and workshops. This will include qualitative data collection and analysis.

The successful applicant will be expected to partake in the teaching commitments of the Surgical and Research and Development Department, including teaching of undergraduates, nursing staff and postgraduate trainees
