Role: Health and Safety Advisor

We are looking for a proactive and organised Health and Safety Advisor to support and promote a positive health and safety culture across our manufacturing site.
What will my role look like?
As a Health and Safety Advisor within our Technical team, you will work closely with site management and colleagues to ensure a safe working environment for everyone and support our continuous improvement. You will support the delivery of health and safety standards, policies, and procedures across the site, helping to maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and company requirements.
You will carry out workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits, while monitoring manufacturing activities to ensure safe working practices are followed. You will also provide guidance and support to managers and colleagues, helping to drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance and culture across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering H&S strategies to support bakery management and to promote a positive H&S culture
- Overseeing manufacturing of Cooplands products to ensure all H&S validations and documentation is complete and we continue to meet and exceed compliance standards
- Creating and reviewing risk assessments and work procedures
- Conducting health and safety inspections on site and ensure remedial actions are completed in a timely manner
- Completing accident investigations
- Identifying training requirements
- Delivering health and safety training
- Completing H&S reports based on performance/incidents and improvement plans
- Conducting trend analysis on near miss incidents in order to highlight areas of improvement
- Completing monthly KPI reports
Skills, know-how and experience:
- NEBOSH general certification
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is desirable
- Experience in inspecting and auditing management systems
- Proven track record of delivering HSE improvements
- Competent IT user who can use technology effectively, safely, and independently to complete everyday work tasks
