This is not your typical warehouse role.
Marquis & Dawe is a busy, family-run ecommerce business, and we’re looking for a self-motivated, hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our small team.
This is a genuinely fast-paced, varied and hands-on role. It is not a repetitive warehouse position where you complete the same task throughout the day.
Our products range from small home accessories to larger and more fragile items, so orders need to be picked, checked and packed carefully - while still working at pace to meet daily dispatch deadlines.
You’ll need to balance speed with accuracy, work productively and efficiently, prioritise tasks as the day changes and maintain high standards during busy periods.
Alongside fulfilling customer orders, you’ll be unloading deliveries, moving and organising stock, restocking the warehouse, processing customer returns and helping with whatever needs to be done to keep the operation running smoothly.

What you'll be doing
- Picking and checking customer orders accurately
- Packing homeware carefully and efficiently
- Working at pace to meet daily dispatch deadlines
- Unloading and checking deliveries
- Moving, organising and putting away stock
- Restocking picking locations
- Retrieving stock stored at height using appropriate equipment
- Processing customer returns
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe
- Switching between tasks as priorities change
- Working as a team to keep the warehouse running smoothly

While previous warehouse or ecommerce experience can be helpful, it isn't essential. Because this isn't a typical warehouse environment, we're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, energy, attention to detail and work ethic.
