Small Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic (Training Provided)
Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Salary: £29,500 - £31,500 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)
We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Small Plant Fitter to join our busy workshop in Salisbury.
If you're mechanically minded, enjoy hands-on work and want to build a long-term career, we'd like to hear from you.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers who will provide ongoing training and support, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in the construction equipment industry.
Whether you've worked on cars, motorcycles, agricultural machinery, garden machinery or other mechanical equipment, your experience could be exactly what we're looking for.
What You'll Do
As part of our workshop team you'll help inspect, service, repair and prepare a wide range of construction equipment, including:
- Small plant machinery
- Concrete and compaction equipment
- Petrol and diesel-powered equipment
- Hydraulic machinery
- Hand-held construction tools
As your experience grows, you'll take on more responsibility and continue to develop your technical skills.
Occasionally, you'll also assist with equipment deliveries, collections and customer site repairs.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:
- Mechanically minded with some hands-on experience.
- Reliable, punctual and hard-working.
- Keen to learn and develop new skills.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Proud of producing quality work.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems.
- In possession of a full UK driving licence.
Experience with petrol engines, diesel engines, hydraulics or plant equipment is an advantage but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
