Interim General Manager (Recovery & Operations)
Reports to: Centre Director
Responsible for: Registered Managers, Operations Team, Ancillary Services and Operational Support Staff
Location: Antonine Court Ltd
Contract: Fixed Term (6–12 months, with potential to become permanent)
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
Salary: £20 per hour
Job Purpose
The Interim General Manager will provide strong operational leadership during an important period of organisational improvement and recovery.
Working closely with the Centre Director and Board of Directors, the postholder will ensure that agreed improvement actions are delivered, operational systems are embedded, services remain safe and effective, and staff are supported to achieve high standards of care.
This role will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of operations across Antonine Court, allowing the Centre Director to focus on strategic leadership, organisational development, governance and external relationships.
Main Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership across all Antonine services.
- Ensure services operate safely and efficiently.
- Support Registered Managers in delivering high-quality services.
- Monitor staffing levels and deployment.
- Ensure effective communication across teams.
- Lead daily operational meetings.
Recovery Programme
Lead implementation of the organisational recovery programme by:
- Monitoring improvement plans.
- Ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Holding managers accountable for progress.
- Reporting progress to the Centre Director and Board.
- Preparing evidence for regulatory inspections.
Quality Assurance
Ensure robust quality assurance systems are operating through:
- Regular service audits.
- Care plan audits.
- Medication audits.
- Health & Safety audits.
- Staff file audits.
- Observation of practice.
- Environmental inspections.
- Incident trend analysis.
Ensure actions arising from audits are completed.

Ensure compliance with:

Support and develop managers through:

Person Specification
Essential
- Degree or equivalent leadership qualification. SVQ level 9 or Registered Managers Award
- SVQ level 4.
- Significant senior management experience.
- Experience managing regulated care services.
- Strong operational management skills.
- Experience leading organisational change.
- Experience with inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills.
