About the Role
We are looking for a motivated, creative and enthusiastic Business Administration & Marketing Apprentice to join the NSEG team.
This is a varied dual role providing the opportunity to develop skills across business administration, marketing, social media, learner recruitment and employer engagement, while gaining valuable hands-on experience and working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day administration of the organisation while also helping to develop NSEG’s online presence and promote our apprenticeships, training programmes, ACE Academy and wider services.
This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who is organised and professional, enjoys working as part of a team, and has a creative side with an interest in social media, digital marketing and creating engaging content.
Key Responsibilities
Business Administration
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with enquiries professionally
- Responding to emails and assisting with general correspondence
- Supporting learner, employer and customer enquiries
- Filing, scanning and maintaining accurate electronic and paper records
- Data entry and updating internal systems
- Preparing documents, reports and meeting paperwork
- Supporting different departments with administrative tasks
- Booking appointments and managing calendars where required
- Providing general administrative support to the management team
- Supporting recruitment and operational activities when required
Marketing & Social Media
- Helping to manage NSEG’s social media presence, particularly LinkedIn, Facebook and other appropriate channels
- Creating and scheduling engaging social media posts
- Producing simple graphics, posters and promotional materials using tools such as Canva
- Taking photographs and short videos of training activities, facilities, events and learner achievements, with appropriate permissions
- Helping to create content promoting apprenticeships, ACE Academy courses, employer services and commercial training
- Keeping social media channels active and up to date
- Supporting email marketing campaigns and employer communications
- Helping to update website content where required
- Assisting with careers events, open days, employer events and apprenticeship campaigns
- Helping to promote learner vacancies and employment opportunities
- Supporting the development of case studies, learner success stories and employer testimonials
- Monitoring basic social media performance, including reach, engagement and enquiries
- Helping to maintain NSEG’s marketing and content calendar
- Working with colleagues to identify good-news stories and opportunities to promote NSEG
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as requested by management
What We Are Looking For
Essential Skills & Qualities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- An interest in marketing, social media and content creation
- Confidence using social media platforms
- Good written English and an ability to produce clear, engaging content
- Creative approach and willingness to suggest new ideas
- Comfortable taking photographs and creating short videos
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable communicating with young people, employers and external organisations
Desired
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths preferred
- Previous office, customer service, marketing or social media experience is advantageous but not essential
- Basic knowledge of Canva or similar design software would be advantageous
- An interest in engineering, apprenticeships, education or training would be beneficial

Hours of Work:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 9:00am – 3:00pm
- 30-minute lunch break daily
Pay: From £8.50 per hour
