Part-time | Rural Cotswolds | Live-in accommodation provided
We are looking for a warm, capable and practical Companion Housekeeper to support an active lady in her early 80s at her lovely four-bedroom farmhouse in the Cotswolds.
This is a varied and personable role for someone who enjoys looking after both a home and the person within it. The Principal is independent and active, with a great love of gardening and bridge, and lives with her two cats. Her family live nearby, but she would very much value the support of a kind and dependable person who can help keep the house running smoothly and provide friendly companionship along the way.
The role combines traditional housekeeping with simple home cooking and day-to-day practical support. Duties will include cleaning, laundry and ironing, changing beds and keeping the house tidy and well organised. You will also prepare simple, healthy lunches and suppers and occasionally cook for the freezer, including soups and other homemade meals.
There will also be occasional driving in the Principal’s car, perhaps to and from the station, together with help with everyday practical matters as they arise. A little patience with occasional IT queries would be very much appreciated!
The position requires split shifts, during the morning and again in the early evening. Weekend availability is important and, ideally, the successful candidate would be happy to work each weekend, although an arrangement involving every other weekend may be considered for the right person.
The role is currently part-time and there is considerable scope to shape it around the right individual. For someone who enjoys gardening, there may also be the opportunity to spend an additional day each week helping in the garden. Equally, should the successful candidate be looking for full-time hours, we would be very happy to assist in finding suitable additional housekeeping work locally.
As the property is in a rural location, a full driving licence and your own car are essential.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone warm, flexible and self-motivated who enjoys country life and is looking for a long-term position where they can become a genuinely valued and trusted presence.
