Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive dance lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Teach various dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or cultural dances
- Choreograph routines for performances, recitals, and competitions that highlight students’ abilities
- Foster a positive classroom environment through effective behavior management and encouragement
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs or physical limitations
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve technique and performance skills
- Collaborate with other instructors or staff to organize events, showcases, or community outreach programs
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching dance or choreography across diverse age groups and skill levels
- Strong communication skills to effectively instruct students and engage parents or guardians
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to maintain a disciplined yet inspiring classroom atmosphere
- Experience working with children, including preschool or early childhood education settings
- Ability to adapt lessons for students with special education needs or physical disabilities
- Background in physical education or experience teaching movement-based activities such as gymnastics or sports
- Skills in tutoring or coaching that support individual student growth in dance techniques and performance
- Creative writing skills are a plus for developing engaging lesson content and performance scripts
- Childcare experience is beneficial for working with young learners in a nurturing environment
