Workshop Assistant
We are looking for a reliable and versatile Workshop Assistant to support our managers with a variety of daily tasks across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining workshop duties, warehouse work, computer-based administration, and occasional deliveries.
Workshop Duties
- Assist managers with day-to-day workshop and warehouse tasks.
- Carry out painting and spray-painting of parts and fabricated items.
- Cut materials using workshop saws, with training provided where required.
- Wrap and package parcels securely for dispatch.
- Wrap and prepare pallets for collection and delivery.
- Safely lift, move, and handle parcels and materials, some of which may weigh 40kg or more.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Prepare, finish, and organise parts ready for dispatch or fabrication.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
Computer & Catalogue Duties
- Upload products and listings to eBay.
- Assist with editing product catalogues, descriptions, pricing, and images.
- Carry out basic computer and administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure product information is accurate and kept up to date.
Driving & Delivery Support
- Carry out occasional local deliveries when our main driver is already out on the road.
- Load and unload items safely at customer or supplier premises.
- Represent the company professionally when making deliveries.
Skills & Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with no, or minimal, penalty points.
- Confident using computers and carrying out basic online administrative tasks.
- Experience in a workshop, warehouse, engineering, or fabrication environment would be beneficial.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks.
- Able to safely handle heavy and awkward items.
- Comfortable using basic tools and workshop equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks across the business.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience with painting or spray-painting.
- Experience uploading products to eBay or editing online listings.
- Knowledge of workshop safety and safe manual handling practices.
- A practical, hands-on approach.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
