We’re delighted to share an opportunity within the Visa & International Support Team. We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Visa & International Support Assistant to join us at Sighthill.
Our team leads the University’s Student Visa compliance activity and provides specialist support to our international student community. We manage the full CAS(Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) issuing process for new and continuing students and work closely with colleagues across the University to ensure our UKVI compliance responsibilities are met.
The Role:
In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative and operational support to the Head of Visa and International Support, playing a key part in CAS issuance, document checking, data management and customer service. You’ll help ensure our processes remain robust, effective and fully aligned with UKVI requirements.
In this role, you will help ensure the University’s compliance with UKVI immigration requirements, providing expert guidance to staff and students while managing key visa and sponsorship processes.
You will lead CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) issuance, support compliance monitoring, audits and reporting, maintain accurate procedures and guidance, and contribute to an excellent international student experience from recruitment through to graduation, ensuring all activities are delivered in line with legislative requirements and University values.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a highly organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality administrative support.
You will have experience in a customer-facing role and be confident communicating with a diverse range of people, often explaining complex information in a clear and accessible way. You will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
You'll be comfortable working with data and systems, have strong administrative capabilities, and demonstrate initiative when identifying solutions or improving processes. Equally important is your ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while adapting positively to changing priorities and demands. Some essentials for the role include:
Essentials:

HNC or 3 Highers (to include English) or equivalent.
Proven experience of delivering in a customer facing service.
Ability to interpret formal policy documents and provide relevant advice to non-experts.
