Buxton Butcher's are seeking Night Shift Scales Operators for an immediate start. Working full time on a permanent contract, 5 nights a week (shifts are Sunday-Thursday, or Monday to Friday) 8pm to 5am or 9pm - 6am.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
- Pick orders accurately and efficiently
- Ensure that all picked items are in good condition and meet quality standards
- Ensure stock is picked in date rotation
- Note any shortages for butchers to prep
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Follow all health and hygiene and food handling requirements
- Work as part of a team to ensure orders are processed quickly and efficiently
- Other ad-hoc jobs as required to help the butchers and scale operators
- Accurately weigh meat products over butchery scales
- Ensure labelling of products and customer packaging is correct
- Check dates and codes for products as they go across the scales
- Box or tray customer orders for drivers to load
- Move boxes & trays to driver storage fridges
Experience:
- Previous experience as scale operator, supermarket till operator, order picker or in a similar role is preferred but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking
- Good understanding of written and spoken English to ensure accurate picking
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods of time
- Good time keeping
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
