The children, staff and Governors of Lingey House Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, caring and reliable Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our dedicated lunchtime team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring that our children have a safe, happy and enjoyable lunchtime. You will support children during mealtimes and playtimes, helping to create a positive, inclusive environment where every child feels safe, valued and encouraged. Start date 1st September 2026.

We are looking for someone who:
- Can supervise children safely during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and during outdoor play.
- Can support younger children with their lunchtime routines, including encouraging independence where appropriate.
- Can promote good table manners and encourage healthy eating.
- Can help provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive play environment.
- Can encourage positive behaviour and help children develop friendships and resolve minor disagreements.
- Is committed to promoting our school ethos and values.
- Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with colleagues.
Your main duties will include:
- Supervising children in the dining hall and playground to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
- Supporting children during mealtimes, including encouraging good table manners and healthy eating habits.
- Assisting younger children with lunchtime routines, including handwashing and toileting where necessary.
- Helping children access and enjoy positive play opportunities during lunchtime.
- Responding appropriately to accidents, spillages and minor incidents, reporting concerns to the Senior Midday Supervisor when required.
- Supervising children before they return to class and supporting a calm transition back to learning.
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Headteacher.

Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year, they are subject to an equated salary adjustment.

- Task/Interview: Tuesday 14th July 2026 – Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a practical task working with children from 12:15 pm. Candidates who are successful in the task will then be invited to attend an interview later that afternoon.
