Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Practitioner to join our team and work with us as a full time Deputy Room Lead in our toddler room at our Barnwood Nursery. This role is pivotal in supporting the leadership of our childcare programme, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role comes with the added responsibility of leading the room with support one day a week.
The ideal candidate will have a passion and strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children.
Your ability to communicate effectively with both children and parents and manage children's needs will be essential in fostering their development and well-being.
This is a full-time, permanent role, and consists of 41 ¼ hours per week on a Rota basis (between the hours of 7.30 a.m. – 6.00 pm for 52 weeks of the year (nursery closes for 1 week at Christmas & all bank holidays)
Duties
- Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities that promote children's development and learning.
- Supervise and manage groups of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the nursery, encouraging children to express themselves.
- Collaborate with the Room Leader to maintain high standards of care and education.
- Support the administration of daily operations, including record-keeping and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements/ Experience
- Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare is essential (as approved as full and relevant by DfE) Please note unqualified candidates will not be contacted.
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, to facilitate clear communication.
- A genuine passion for childcare and the development of young children is essential.
