Temp All Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced practitioner to join a dedicated Family Support Team. You will manage a statutory caseload focusing on child protection and court work to deliver robust interventions and safeguard vulnerable children. This position is situated within a dedicated Family Support Team. The successful practitioner will primarily be responsible for managing high-risk child protection cases and executing comprehensive court work, including preparing legal statements and giving evidence where required.
- Office & Team Presence: Physical attendance at the primary office is required every Wednesday for the mandatory team meeting.
- Flexibility Required: No fixed hybrid pattern is guaranteed. Practitioners must remain highly responsive to meet emergency family needs, crisis intervention, and duty days.
- Remote Work: Workers typically achieve 1 work-from-home day per 5 working days, writing up reports between community visits.
- Travel & Transport: Candidates must have a valid driving licence and access to their own vehicle. Daily travel is required to conduct face-to-face family visits, school meetings, and court appearances.
- Commuting: Local residency is not required, provided you can reliably commute to all scheduled meetings and site visits across the service region daily.
Key Accountabilities
- Child Protection: Manage an intensive caseload of children on Child Protection (CP) plans, driving intervention strategies to reduce risk.
- Court Proceedings: Lead on Public Law Outline (PLO) processes, care proceedings, writing high-quality court reports, and presenting evidence in court.
- Statutory Assessments: Conduct robust, evidence-based risk assessments to inform long-term care planning and protection.
- Multi-Agency Framework: Partner with schools, health specialists, and legal professionals to deliver comprehensive, cohesive support for vulnerable children.
- Auditable Records: Maintain immaculate, legally defensible, and accurate electronic case files in accordance with statutory standards.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Professional degree or post-graduate qualification in Social Work.
- Registration: Active and unrestricted registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Proven, substantial experience in handling statutory child protection and care proceedings within a court setting.
- Vetting: A valid, current Enhanced DBS check with relevant children's barred list checks.
