The Role
We are looking for a skilled painter and decorator who can carry out work to a high standard on a variety of projects, including internal decorating, external painting, woodwork, walls, ceilings, and general preparation work.
You will be working as part of a team on domestic and commercial projects, so good communication, punctuality, and respect for clients’ homes and businesses are essential.
Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Preparing surfaces properly before painting, including sanding, filling, caulking, cleaning down, and spot priming
- Applying paint systems to walls, ceilings, woodwork, metalwork, masonry, and other surfaces
- Working with brushes, rollers, and spraying equipment where required
- Protecting floors, furniture, windows, fixtures, and surrounding areas before work begins
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe throughout the day
- Working to company standards and following job sheets and site instructions
- Communicating professionally with team members, supervisors, and clients
- Travelling to different job locations as required
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a painter and decorator
- A strong eye for detail and pride in their finish
- Good preparation skills — not just someone who can “put paint on”
- Good communication skills
- A reliable, professional, and positive attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Good timekeeping and attendance
- A valid UK driving licence
- Own basic tools preferred, but not essential depending on the role
