Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to foster teamwork
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development to meet customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste
- Train new staff members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment, including equipment and workstations
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive food production knowledge with expertise in various cooking techniques
- Strong team management abilities with excellent leadership qualities
- Proficiency in food preparation and presentation skills
- Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Previous experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and management
