Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Indian Restaurant Tandoori Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of traditional tandoori dishes, including meats, vegetables, and bread, using a traditional clay oven (tandoor)
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used in accordance with food safety standards
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and quality in every dish served
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Follow all health and safety regulations to uphold cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen
- Assist in menu development by suggesting new tandoori recipes or variations to enhance customer offerings
- Support the overall kitchen operations by managing prep work, cleaning stations, and maintaining equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within an Indian restaurant or similar culinary environment
- Strong knowledge of traditional tandoori techniques, spices, marinades, and cooking methods
- Demonstrated kitchen experience with a focus on meal preparation and food safety practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent understanding of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service standards
- Prior experience working with a team of chefs and kitchen staff to deliver consistent quality dishes
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
