Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing various wooden and other material structures in accordance with project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including roofing, masonry, plumbing, electrical works, and construction painting. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience using hand tools and power tools. Duties
- Fabricate and assemble bespoke timber components using hand tools and power tools.
- Install structures such as roofing frameworks, joinery elements, and other wooden fixtures on-site.
- Assist with construction tasks including masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting as required.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials safely to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise execution of projects.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to adhere to safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines whilst ensuring quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or joinery within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools such as saws, chisels, and hammers.
- Competence with power tools including drills, sanders, and saws.
- Knowledge of roofing techniques, masonry work, plumbing systems, electrical installations, and construction painting is advantageous.
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when interpreting technical drawings.
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour tasks throughout the working day.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or related trades are preferred but not essential.
